Geriatric Healthcare Awareness - Importance

#Geriatrician" - a word that holds immense gravity and significance, yet remains unfamiliar to many in India. It's not the people to blame; it's us, the #Geriatricians, who must do more to raise #awareness about it and its importance.

As #doctors, especially #postgraduates, we often feel we've completed our journey once we've acquired our degrees. However, #Geriatrics extends beyond the theoretical and practical knowledge gained during our postgraduate training. I, too, once believed that it was the end of the road to learning, and all that I needed to do now, was sit in a cozy chamber and build my “very soon to be” flourishing clinical practice.

I hated speaking in public but now I look forward to these interactions where my “young elderly“ friends get excited and hopeful of their queries getting answered. I just adore these group of people who are the prime example of a life to be led by all of us in future, because like them, we need to question, pester, find alternatives, offer wisdom, make the best out of everything and last but not the least…HOPE FOR A #HEALTHY #AGEING.
